Wilson PTA Updates

Two weeks in...how is everyone doing? Are your children enjoying the new school year? The traffic situation will start to get better in early October, until then, thank you to everyone for making changes to their pickup/drop off routines to accommodate the construction!

Our Spirit Wear is still available online until September 30. Visit https://www.dunnssportinggoods.net/home.php?cat=265 to order any of our new items. After September 30, this order will be closed and items sent to school for pickup (date TBD). We will have two more ordering windows during the school year, and a limited amount of items available at our Family Events. Questions/comments, please let us know!

Our Palermo's Pizza and Growing Green fundraisers are due Thursday, September 19 (order forms and payment). Pickup for these items will be on Monday, October 7 between 3-6 p.m. Thank you to everyone who is participating!

 

Box Tops! Box Tops are available through General Mills products and can also be accumulated through online shopping on the http://www.boxtops4education.com/ website. Each Box Tops submitted earns Wilson a donation that goes towards field trip transportation, classroom items like technology updates and supplies, physical education equipment and more. Please send in all of your Box Tops for our first big collection day by October 7!

Are you on Facebook? So are we! Please find us at West Allis Wilson PTA. Here we post regularly about upcoming events, deadlines, fun facts, etc. It's a great place to stay connected to Wilson! ***NEW*** Facebook contest! When we hit 100 likes, we will pick one random follower and give away some new Wilson Spirit Wear! We will do the same at 150 likes. So find us on Facebook and share our page with other Wilson families!

Do you like Target? Target is continuing their 'GiveWith' promotion. This program asks for likes through a separate website and then awards schools gift cards based on the number of votes received. Currently Wilson is at 81 votes. You can find the link for this contest (it is a Facebook contest) on our PTA page, or visit givewith.target.com and vote for Wilson. Feel free to share this with your friends and family as well!

Wilson will host an Information Nights on September 24 (third floor), September 25 (second floor), and September 26 (first floor). Please watch your student's folder for more information.

The Wilson school directory information form was sent home in your child's folder during the first week of school,. Please send that in as soon as possible so we may get the directory out to you.

PTA News

Thank you for attending Monday night's PTA meeting! I know it was hot in the Fieldhouse, but we appreciate your commitment to the school and to our mission!

Any questions about items from the meeting, or anything else, please don't hesitate to ask. 

 

Don't forget to use your Orange Leaf flyer and cool off TODAY!  It's going to be a hot one! The program runs until 11 p.m. tonight! 20% of the proceeds from our sales will come back to our school.  We hope to see some familiar faces at Orange Leaf tonight!

PTA News

We hope you and children have had a smooth start to the school year!  Our first PTA meeting of the 2013-2014 school year is scheduled for Monday September 9th at 6:00 pm in the Wilson field house.  The discussion topic this month will be "what to expect this school year"!  If you don't have child care, no worries...bring your kids along.  They can play in the gym while we meet.

Tuesday September 10th is our Orange Leaf FUNdrasier!  Bring the flyer that you received in your child's folder to Orange Leaf in West Allis on Tuesday and PTA will receive 20% of all sales!  Remember...this money gets put right back to Wilson to benefit your child.

Tuesday September 10th is also Market Day pick up.  If you ordered any Market Day items please pick those items up in the Wilson gym on Tuesday between 3:00-4:30 pm.

Back to School

Welcome to the 2013-2014 school year!  We hope your child is eager to begin the year, it's going to be a great year! 

School starts Tuesday, September 3rd.  The first bell rings at 8:25 am.  There is a lot of construction happening around the school and not many places to park so please be sure you allow enough time to get your child to their classroom line.

WOW Night

WOW, it's already WOW Night!  Looking forward to seeing all of our families at Wilson. Please be sure to stop by the PTA table inside the gym. We will be debuting our new Spirit Wear! Limited sizes/items will be available for purchase at WOW night. You can then purchase Spirit Wear online until the end of September.

Summer PTA Meeting

Don't forget our PTA summer kick off meeting is Monday, August 19th at Filippo's Italian Restaurant at 6915 W. Lincoln Avenue beginning at 6:00 pm.  At this meeting we'll talk about the upcoming school year, programs and events, ideas for fundraisers and more! We will also be looking to fill out slate of committee chairs and volunteers!

Summer Reminders!

Folder Stuffing

Each year the Wilson PTA sorts and stuffs the folders our families take home on WOW night. We will be completing this on Tuesday, August 6 starting at 8 a.m. at Wilson. This can be done quickly with a lot of volunteers. If you would like to help, please email us! We will have light refreshments for our early risers!  Please let us know if you will be able to help!

Kickoff PTA Meeting

Our kickoff meeting is Monday, August 19 at Filippo's Italian Restaurant at 6915 W. Lincoln starting at 6 p.m. At this meeting we'll talk about the upcoming school year, programs and events, ideas for fundraisers and more! We will also be looking to fill out slate of committee chairs and volunteers!

Please remember to keep collecting your Box Tops, soup labels and milk caps! Last year these programs brought Wilson nearly $2,500. Who knows how much we can raise this year!
