Summer PTA Meeting

Don't forget our PTA summer kick off meeting is Monday, August 19th at Filippo's Italian Restaurant at 6915 W. Lincoln Avenue beginning at 6:00 pm.  At this meeting we'll talk about the upcoming school year, programs and events, ideas for fundraisers and more! We will also be looking to fill out slate of committee chairs and volunteers!

Summer Reminders!

We hope you are having a wonderful summer. Below please find information about some upcoming events and meeting notices!

Folder Stuffing

Each year the Wilson PTA sorts and stuffs the folders our families take home on WOW night. We will be completing this on Tuesday, August 6 starting at 8 a.m. at Wilson. This can be done quickly with a lot of volunteers. If you would like to help, please email us! We will have light refreshments for our early risers!  Please let us know if you will be able to help!

Kickoff PTA Meeting

Our kickoff meeting is Monday, August 19 at Filippo's Italian Restaurant at 6915 W. Lincoln starting at 6 p.m. At this meeting we'll talk about the upcoming school year, programs and events, ideas for fundraisers and more! We will also be looking to fill out slate of committee chairs and volunteers!

Please remember to keep collecting your Box Tops, soup labels and milk caps! Last year these programs brought Wilson nearly $2,500. Who knows how much we can raise this year!

 

We look forward to seeing you August 19 at the kickoff meeting!

School Picnic

It's almost here...the Wilson PTA Family Picnic!

Friday June 7th from 4:00-7:00pm

 

If you haven't done so already, please return your pre-order food slip

to the office as soon as possible so we can prepare enough food for everyone!

 

We are in need of LOTS of volunteers to make this picnic a success.

If you would like to donate a cake and/or cupcakes to the Cake Walk

which will take place at the picnic, please bring those on Friday to room 105.

 

We will be selling basket raffle tickets from 4:00-5:45pm at the picnic. 

The basket raffle drawing will be held at 6:00pm, you won't want to miss that.

 

We hope to see all of our Wilson families at the picnic on Friday!

Basket Raffle & Principal for a Day Ticket Sales

We have extended the ticket sales for the basket raffle & Principal for a Day tickets! We will continue to sell tickets through Friday May 31! Tickets are $1.00 each for both basket raffle and Principal for a Day!

The drawing for Principal for a Day will be on Friday May 31, and the special day will be held on Tuesday June 4th.

The basket raffle drawing will held at the school picnic on Friday June 7 at 6:00 pm.

PTA Reminders

• Don't forget to turn in your ballot for our inaugural Wilson Wildcat awards! Please complete the ballot and return via email or to the PTA mailbox in the office by Friday, May 17.  If you need a copy of the ballot, please email us at wawilsonpta@yahoo.com.  The Wilson Wildcat awards banquet combined with the Volunteer Appreciation dinner will be held on Monday, June 10th at 6:00 pm in the Wilson field house.

• Basket raffle pre-sale forms will be going home shortly and tickets will be available after school from May 22-May 30. Remember to turn in your picnic registration by May 31!

Walk-A-Thon

Don't forget to turn in your Walk-a-Thon pledge sheets by Friday May 10th. If your student collects $25 or more in pledges they will receive a 2013 Walk-a-Thon t-shirt. If the school raises a total of $4,000 or more, Mr. Kelly will shave his head! The top fundraising student will have the privilege of shaving Mr. Kelly's head on Tuesday May 28th!

It's not to late too START COLLECTING!

High Interest Day

Thank you to all the wonderful presenters and volunteers that helped make High Interest Day 2013 a HUGE success!  Thank you to all the teachers and staff at Wilson for accommodating this special event for the kids, we couldn't have done it without you.  And last but certainly not least, a special thank you to Jolene Smith who coordinated this entire event...way to go Jolene, a job WELL DONE!  We hope your students enjoyed this special day!
